The Perfect Guy

Time Out – The Perfect Guy

My girlfriend just called and is heartbroken over a guy that she has been dating for a little over 3 months. According to her, he is the perfect guy but he has let her down. You see on day “115” he made the mistake of not returning her call leaving her to question her existence and prior decisions. We stayed on the phone for over an hour while she pondered over every plausible reason as to why he didn’t call. Did she sleep with him too soon, was he seeing somebody else and the scariest thought of all Did he just not like her? As I hung up the phone all I could think to myself was; been there – done that.

Every girl would be lying to herself if she didn’t fess up to freaking out over a guy at least once in her life. You know, our fantasy “boy” that we have already secretly married in our minds. He is the boy that doesn’t blink when he looks in our eyes and tells us that we look good even without makeup. The one that loves you more than you love him. His everything is you and he supports you at all costs or so we think. If only he came with instructions as he is a man and men are more complicated than women. Let’s call a spade a spade – men are all over the place with their thoughts and actions and women often spend days, months, even years trying to figure out their thought process.

I believe that sometimes we sell ourselves short. We make excuses on his behalf to save his ego while we are the one that is actually hurting. Admittedly, we have all been there. All of us in one way or another. So this perfect guy that she speaks of – He is not so perfect. Actually he isn’t shit!!

True perfection lies within. It starts with finding the perfect you. Meaning once we figure out who we are and what we want, finding perfection in a man is the least of our worries.

So with that being said – SCREW THE PERFECT GUY!

  2. OMG.. i am soo her right now but thank you for reminding me that it’s my feelings that really count.

    • To think, I was coneufsd a minute ago.

  3. I have definitely freaked out a over a guy before. Literally wondering for weeks why he didn’t return my calls. Turned out that he had just lost his phone and needed to wait a month before a new bill was generated so he could get my number. So to all the girls reading this- don’t panic – it’s either one of two things – He will call or he won’t.

  4. I love it – be the best you

  5. You hit it right on the nose. 1st and foremost, regardless of the situation, your girlfriend will have your back through all these emotional roller coasters. You are a good friend and your words do hit home.

    • Walking in the presence of giants here. Cool thikinng all around!

  6. Long ago I had a fantasy woman. They don’t exist.

We all have flaws. Some men are all over the place. Let’s be fair. So are some women.

I’m happy and confident with and in a relationship I have now. She is a wonderful person. I love her more than anything in the world. She knows this. If we don’t talk in a day, it’s not a biggie. There’s always tomorrow. What I feel, what I think, what I know, who I am is known. It doesn’t always have to be said.

I’m not perfect. If I f up, I’m human. I admit it and move on.

True, finding perfection in anyone – well, you’ll be gravely disappointed. Love someone for who they are and what they mean to you, not for what you think they can be.

  7. wow. I soo use to be that girl- up all night freaking out about who my guy was with and what he was doing and why he didn’t call back. Seriously ladies get over it. Put your needs first. Always
